Disability Arts Cymru (formerly Arts Disability Wales) commissioned papergecko to produce a new website to reflect the organisation’s name change and new branding. Since DAC are a key disability organisation in Wales, they were also keen to have a site which would act as a model of good practice in web accessibility. papergecko provided DAC with a comprehensive new design, which complied with Priority 3 of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The site featured accessibility enhancements including skip navigation links, the ability for users to change the way the site is presented (a style sheet switcher) and fully accessible forms.
The site also features a basic content management system, developed by Chris Evans in conjunction with papergecko. The system enables DAC staff to update the site using a simple online administration area, and to publish their ‘What’s On’ publication in both paper and electronic form simultaneously.
