Workshops at Wobage
Workshops at Wobage is the educational wing of Wobage Farm Craft Workshops, near Ross on Wye in Herefordshire. Jeremy Steward, who runs the residential pottery courses, approached us to commission a clean, simple website which the staff at Wobage could update themselves, with minimal technical knowledge. We built a content management system based on WordPress which enabled the addition of new courses, information about tutors, accommodation and a news system. The previous year, we’d put together a simple booking facility for the Workshop’s previous online incarnation, so we were also able to plug the new site into the booking form, so that additions to the Courses section automatically appear on the booking form too.
The project also involved a rebrand for the Workshops, working closely with Jeremy to develop a new logo and colour scheme to delineate the educational side of the Workshops’ activities from the work of the designer makers based at Wobage.
As with all our other sites, accessibility and usability were key concerns for the final product and, because it’s based on WordPress, the content management system can be updated cheaply and easily, to keep up with developments in technology.
